Stuporbowl 13 has come and gone. Some impressive efforts were put forth by a number of Stupor contenders, but my picks B-Rad and BrauerPower, were out done by Philly Jeff, who had the guidance of local messenger and Trash Bag founder, Andy Larson. Fioana Lockhardt, killed the womens speed catagory, and Carrie Swiggums took the Stupor lady bag home. Mens speed race was a tough one. Andy Lambert turned in his manifest just moments after 13 time Stupor bowl participant Martin Rudnick took second. There were two very, very, impressive efforts this year. The first was a dude, Ben Hill, who just happened to be at The Nomad Friday night, asked what people were signing up for, how it worked and whether he could join. "It looks like fun, I'll give it a try". Ben ended up in 13th place, considering the 298, registrants, I would say Mr. Hill did a hell of a job in his first messenger/bicycle race ever. Now comes the time that I have to eat my words, during registration I referred to a certain dude as "The biggest f-ing trend-surfing posenger ever!" Well it turns out that that posenger also happens to be the fastest dude around. Jeff Frane SHATTERED the field by 18 minutes to become the Stuporbowl speed champ. Very impressive Jeff, well done!! While we're on the subject, I call for the SBCIHAFID to take place next Saturday, the 13th. It's a good number, and Sunday allows for a little recovery time. Some where on a lake, with bikes, and booze. Don't listen to Geno, he's just sad because he made plans already. bh
